"Empowering the community through education to restore balance to life."
Our goal is to provoke resource consciousness in the members of our community. Sustainable Saturdays is a workshop that can be taken in person or virtually. The course includes in field learning and building. Each course reviews our relationship between our natural resources and growing food. Agriculture is the seed of life and we aim to empower our community with the knowledge of growing food sustainably.
For our virtual courses we currently offer 2 plans. You can choose the entire 7 module course or a single module to suit your needs!!
Sustainable Saturdays™ is a free, exceptional workshop developed by Ma'at Urban Agriculture & Industries™. The program covers a wide range of topics, from soil and water ecology to sustainable agriculture and natural garden maintenance. By empowering individuals with knowledge and skills, the program promotes activism for change and aims to build a stronger and more resilient community. Ma'at Urban Agriculture & Industries™ specializes in promoting sustainable living through urban agriculture and plans to establish a regenerative Urban Farm Network™ to promote food security in the community.
The program offers employment opportunities to those who complete the full course, including youth, disabled persons, veterans, and ex-felons. Sustainable Saturdays™ equips participants with the skills they need to succeed in the rapidly trending market of regenerative agriculture practices.
One unique aspect of the program is the creation of a network of urban farms that collaborate to guarantee food security in the community. This model distributes the responsibility of food production among multiple individuals, minimizing the possibility of crop failure due to unforeseen circumstances.
The first workshop of the year is scheduled for April 15, 2023, in-person at The AMP at 16 Tech in Indianapolis, with an online course available. For a more comprehensive learning experience, a 7 module virtual course is offered for $125.00, or individual modules for $25.00 each.
Sustainable Saturdays™ is an innovative program that aims to promote sustainability practices and build a healthier, more sustainable future for all.
