Welcome to the Kemetic Rastafari Temple Ma'at 9 Incorporated, a spiritual and sociopolitical movement that aims to promote social justice and empower marginalized communities through the principles of MA'AT and Livity. Our mission is to restore collective consciousness to MA'AT, which encompasses values such as truth, justice, harmony, balance, order, reciprocity, and righteousness. By aligning with the natural cosmic order under Universal Law, we aim to create a society that is equitable, just, and that aligns with the cosmic order, observing and honoring one of the oldest spiritual principles known to man, MA'AT.

 

MA'AT has its roots in ancient Kemet, the region on the continent of Africa where civilization was originally formed and responsible for the development of Nubia and Egypt or Kemet. It refers to the ancient Nile Valley concepts of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice.

 

The fundamental principle of MA’AT 9 Inc. is the copulation of the feminine and masculine as the natural order in balance for propagation, promotion, protection, and sustaining of life in accordance with Universal Laws that constitute MA’AT. 

 

Our ideology is significant in the name MA’AT 9 Incorporated, meaning the incorporation of living in balance under the universal principle of MA’AT as a way of life and spirituality believing all life to be sacred. This concept is the equivalent of the Rastafari concept of LIVITY that is righteous, ever-living living. It’s essence is the realization that an energy or life-force, conferred by Almighty Jah (God), exists within, and flows through all people and all living things, this is seen as the presence of Jah living within us and is often expressed in Rastafari vocabulary as “I and I”, where the first “I” refers to the ALL, and the second “I” refers to oneself.  LIVITY, also emphasizes focus on living a natural lifestyle that includes the consumption of natural foods and the growth of natural hair. Ma'at 9 incorporates these concepts into principles for living.

 

At the Kemetic Rastafari Temple Ma'at 9 Incorporated, we recognize that many marginalized communities, particularly those who are American descendants of slavery (A.D.O.S.), face systemic and structural barriers that limit their access to resources and opportunities. To address this issue, we empower families with practical and applicable education and instruction that enable them to be less reliant on systems and factors outside of their control that consistently impact them disproportionately and negatively. Our approach is grounded in community-based and culturally responsive practices that address issues at the cause rather than the effect.

 

Our Temple's motto is "WHERE REVOLUTION IS RELIGION & FAITH IS IN FAMILY." This reflects our commitment to both spiritual and sociopolitical transformation. At the Kemetic Rastafari Temple Ma'at 9 Incorporated, we recognize that religion and politics are not separate. We believe that every individual has the right to live without interference or influence from any agency's restrictions, agendas, or control. This means working to dismantle the systems of oppression that perpetuate inequality, poverty, and other forms of social injustice. Revolutionizing our way of thinking and living and building a community with family at the core of it's existence as the source of strength and power.
